Cameron Thompson was a young cook and member of The Restaurant at Meadowood family who was killed in a car accident in late September of 2019. A gentle soul, he cared deeply about his craft and compatriots. Christopher and Martina Kostow worked with Cameron's mother, Tracie, in creating a Legacy Scholarship in remembrance of Cameron. The Legacy Scholarship is set to help increase access to professional culinary training as a pathway toward robust careers in food and hospitality for aspiring African American chefs.
